Samira & Michael’s Higuera Ranch Wedding

Ever since Samira & Michael’s Higuera Ranch Wedding I’ve had had this thing with color that I cannot shake – nor do I want to! I had such a blast putting together this color palette with them and creating a design that was fresh, vibrant, and buzzing with life – literally, the bees couldn’t stay away. The couple opted to have the ceremony on the grassy lawn in front of the main house, which at the time was bursting with blush garden roses. Big thanks to Nicki from Honey & Hive Photography for capturing this day so perfectly!

Locally Sourced Ingredients

I am so proud when I can source an entire wedding from local farmers. Not only was everything curated from domestic farmers, but farmers on the Central Coast. Doesn’t get any more fresh than that! A little pro tip: if you want flowers to look fantastic on the day of your wedding, ask your florist to source everything from Flower Farmers in your area. You might have to sacrifice those peonies flown in from overseas, but fresh flowers will naturally thrive in whatever type of weather and conditions they were raised in, days or weeks after they are cut. Blush, Peach, Creme, Oh My!

What a fun palette for a summer wedding. We incorporated blush cafe au lait dahlias, peach ranunculas, and roses of different varieties. Secondary flowers included freesia, astilbe and wax flower. The couple wanted to include succulents for added fun & texture, so we decided to give them their moment on the cake.
