Romantic Big Sur Wedding at Ventana Inn

Josh and Corrinne are two of the most genuine people I have ever worked with. They traveled from Southern California to Big Sur to have the most gorgeous wedding underneath the Redwoods and celebrate overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Friends, Family, and Vendors alike traveled from all over the globe to take part in this special occasion. So where do I begin?

Ventana Inn in Big Sur is one of the most beautiful venues I have had the pleasure of working at. It is the perfect space for that forest-y redwood vibe and sweeping views of wild and ragged Pacific Coastline. Plus, when you have many guests traveling from our of state, Big Sur is a picture perfect representation of California.*

When discussing J&C’s vision, they wanted a very clean, fresh, and simple aesthetic. The Bridesmaids wore off-white/grey linen dresses with boots. Cohesively, the groomsmen wore light grey suits and leather brown boots. The Bride and Groom naturally looked stunning, and wore huge smiles the entire day. The color palette was neutral with lots of cremes, whites, with a touch of sage from Eucalyptus foliage. Our favorite way to make a neutral palette stand out is to add texture. Therefore, we added plenty of dry ingredients like pampas grass, bleached ruscus, palm fronds, and foliage to do the job.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the redwood forest at Ventana Big Sur Campground. The aisle arrangements served as a pathway for guests to find their seats, and were made of pampas grass, palm fronds, seed pods, and other dried material. The aisle met a circular arch at the base of a MASSIVE redwood tree that seemed to reach right up to the heavens. Being that J&C are Southern California residents, we felt it was appropriate to incorporate some orchids and palm fronds into the design.

The Reception

Up above on the restaurant patio, the tables were set in a long family style arrangement. We used eucalyptus garlands and floral accents to create a simple, classic look. There is a reason why garlands are a wedding favorite, they provide just enough decor on the table without it overwhelming the eye. Plus, guests are still able to interact with one another without having to look over or under a vessel. Don’t get me wrong, I love a floral filled table as much as the next florist, but in this case, table garlands were a great choice.

There are just too many amazing photos to choose from – so I had to post a few! Here are some of my favorites.
